Hello Everyone,

The Foundation class are busy and growing in so many ways… Growing in confidence, learning and continuing to make friendships.

I would like to congratulate each student for their fine performance at our annual concert. Also, I appreciate the support from parents for costumes and a big thank you to Ms Elizabeth, our integration aide for her help and support with props.

In Science this term we have learnt about materials and in the latter half are now learning about 'Weather in my world'. Children are learning about months, seasons, weather symbols, how the weather can determine our activities and dress. This also integrates with our math topic of data and keeping a record of the weather over a period of time and see patterns.

In math we've continued to work on numbers, patterns, addition, sharing, subtraction, measuring mass and, data.

In literacy we are continuing to work on our high frequency sight words, guided reading, learning to spell through phonetics and writing. The foundation class have continued to work on writing a recount and are now also learning to write a procedural text.

Our excursion to Science Works in week six was fantastic. It was very engaging and a lot of fun.

Our gymnastics program is also in full swing, children are gaining physical gross motor skills and coordination.

Regards,
Ms Ayfer Karatekeli
